Contact the administrator or moderator.

To contact the forum moderator or administrator, either look for a "contact us" link at the bottom of the page, or click on the person's name in the interface (it's linked to their profile).

Reporting a posting.

If you see a posting that is in clear violation of the forum rules, you may report that post to the administrator/moderators by clicking on the Report Post icon . Please enter your reason for reporting the post. The post will be reviewed by the administrator / moderators.

What are moderators?

Moderators are individuals assi

How to Post Topics and Replies

Post a new topic.

Navigate to the forum you wish your post to appear in, and click the “New” button and select “Discussion”. Use the resultin
g popup window to enter a topic title and message. You can also include a posting icon if you wish to convey a mood with your message. When you are finished, click "Post Now" to complete the process. You will then be returned to your completed message.

What are postin
g icons?

You may associate an icon with each post you make. These icons are intended to identify the
general mood or subject of the post; they range from a simple note to sadness to warning, and appear next to each topic in a forum listing and on each post.

Post a poll.

You can create a new topic that consists of a poll question and answers. Other
members will be able to vote in your poll, and you'll see results generated automatically. To post a poll, navigate to the forum you wish your post to appear in, and click the “New” button and select “Poll”.  Use the resulting popup window to enter a subject, a poll question, and up to five possible responses. Click "Post Poll Now" to complete the process.

Post a reply.

Look for the reply button. Click it and use the resultin
g screen to add your message. Your message will be appended to the end of the topic.

Post a reply with quote.

Look for the quote icon at the lower right of the message you wish to quote. Click it and the resulting posting screen will contain the text from that message, ready for you to add your reply. Your reply will appear at the end of the page.

I posted so
mething and it didn't show up!

Please wait a few
moments and click the “Refresh” or “Reload” button on your browser. If your post is still not there, then please try again.

Enhancing or Editing a Post

Edit my message.

Click the edit icon
to edit your post. You may only edit your post, not delete it.

Message enhancements.
.

When you click New Topic or Reply, you enter the popup posting screen. You'll see a row of icons representin
g all of the ways you can enhance your message, including: smilies, URLs, bold or italics, quotes, lists, email address, images, code, or attachments. Click these icons to add the desired information within your message.

Smilies (or Graemlins) - Note that the selected item will appear at the end of any text you have typed in the box. Icons will appear as typeface within this screen, but will be converted to the
graphic icon once the message appears on the board.

URL - Click the URL button to type the URL and title, which will appear as hyperlinked text in your resultin
g post. Linked URLs will open in a new window when someone clicks on them. Do not use quotation marks within the URL tag.

Bold or italics - You can make sections of your
message bold or italic by clicking the button and typing the desired text in the box. You can also manually enclose any words in the tags to make them bold: [b][/b]

Quote - Click this button to make the [QUOTE] [/QUOTE] ta
gs appear. The software will automatically block and indent the text to set it apart from the rest of your message. It's easiest to copy the text you wish to quote before you open the "post reply" or "new topic" box.

List - To create a bulleted list, click the list icon. You must place a "list start" ta
g at the beginning. Next click "list item" and type your item next to the asterisk tag. Continue until you have completed your list. Each list item must have an asterisk tag in front of it. Close the list with the "list end" tag.

If you'd prefer to have a numbered list, use these openin
g/closing tags: [list=1][/list]. For a lettered list, substitute an "A" in the opening tag. Email address - If you use this button, the email address you type will be automatically hyperlinked within your message.

Ima
ge - If you use this button, the image you type will automatically appear within your message. You must include the "http://" portion of the URL for this code to work properly. Note that some Web sites disable this tag to prevent objectionable images from being posted.

Include a signature with my message.

Whenever you post a new topic or a reply, you have the opportunity to include a standard signature. If you check the "si
gnature" box, whatever you enter in the "signature" box in your profile will be appended to all of your messages. Your sig is part of the information included in your profile, which you can change at any time by clicking the Edit Profile link. Note: You may use HTML in your signature file. Please do not place pictures, inline code, or other online content in your signature.

Avatars.

Avatars are those small pictures that display with some member’s posts. Avatars are selected by each user and are a fun way to personalize your postings. For those of you who would like to display an Avatar, just follow these steps:

Click the "Go" tab to reach the " Personal Zone " link. Go to your profile and click "View/Edit Complete Profile"

Scroll down toward the bottom to "Avatar / Picture URL:" To the right, you will see the word "Edit" as a clickable link. Click on it to edit your avatar selection.

To use a standard avatar, click on the image you like, or click on "next" to see another page worth.

Press the "Update Avatar" button.

Press the "Submit" button on the main profile page.

If you don't like those choices, you can look for an Avatar out on the web. There are a number of free Avatar sites, some even allow you to link to the Avatar image directly. In order to use such an Avatar, you will need to specify the complete URL to the picture.

Finally, if you want to use your own picture, you must have it uploaded to a server somewhere so that you can provide a URL to it. Currently, we will allow you to store an avatar on our server. Contact the forum admin for more information.

To select a custom avatar, click on "custom Avatar" and enter the full URL of your custom avatar in the "Use Custom URL" field.

Click "Update Avatar".

Remember to click the "Submit" button on the main profile page to save the changes!

IMPORTANT RULE!!!

If you choose to use a custom Avatar, it must be a SMALL picture. Small means preferably no larger than 100 X 100 pixels. The standard ones provided by the forum are all 48 X 48 pixels. Users who attempt to use an overly large avatar will be chastised, and will be required to resize it to a reasonable size.
