I travel fulltime and work on the road although my internet usage is just for checking email and ordering supplies occasionally. Usually I find rv parks with free wireless once or twice a week.

Here is where I have found accessible wireless while sitting in my rv.

1. Days Inn
2. Durrey Inn

Add to the list if you have found other hotels or places that consistently have free wireless regardless of the city/town you are going through.

Many librarys esp. small town ones have "open" wifi services.

Also some Texas interstate rest stops.

Try Chamber of Commerce locations. I know the one is ShowLow, AZ works.

Also, Community Colleges and Universities generally have open wireless networks. The CC in ShowLow, AZ is open as well as Cypress College in Cypress, CA.

We've gotten free wireless by parking near a Holiday Inn Express, in the Mc Donalds lot next to
it.

Texas as mentioned has free wifi at their rest stops that I've pulled into. Several other states are now offering this as well.
Numerous cities are broadcasting open wifi in their downtown areas and parks. Montgomery, AL being one of them that I was pleasantly surprised to stumble across a sign post displaying the new access points.

Alot of coffee shops that are mom and pop establishments will also offer free wifi.

If you are in the southeast, Krystal's burger shops have open wireless, along with some McDonalds, deli style restaurants.

The key point is getting onto a wifi network with decent speeds, and no hackers scavenging info from you as you use it.

Sharon, Are you sure the access was coming thru the Holiday Inn? Most McDonald's have internet access now too. Some you have to pay for; some free; some free if you are an ATT DSL customer.

I have found free WiFi in most motel lobby's, Texas visitor information centers, some very unlikely restaurants (small Mexican diner) in addition to the popular WiFi eateries/coffee shops.

We were down in GA last weekend. While sitting in the parking lot of a bank, it came up with WiFi from the real estate company next door.

I'm really surprised at how many open Wifi systems there are. Two of my kids use the neighbors in their subdivision.

Office Depot. A clerk there told me that they are adding free wi-fi nationwide, store by store.
