I just bought my son's computer which is a great upgrade for me...he got a MAC(ok, so I am jealous
 ) He has the built in mike and webcam and suggested I get a webcam so we can do video calls over AOL instant messinger...Also daughter and son-in-law also have this capability and it would be great to "see" granddaughter more often. There are so many webcams out there, I am not sure what is the best one and not wanting to spend hundreds on one. Is a headset with mike necessary? Any help is appreciated. I spent $10.00 on my webcam and it works like a champ. I just watched http://www.hot-deals.org/ until one popped up. It was this one but with a bigger rebate:

I bought my "VEO Stingray" web cam from Walmart about ten years ago and it still works great..
I paid $9.99 for it then ... and last month I noticed the price for the VEO is still less than $20... Just wanted to add my 2cents  . My daughter lives in CO and I'm on the east coast and I recently got a laptop with a webcam, etc. We tired AOL video but there was likr a delay in response then we used Skype. It was great! No delay and the video was much clearer. For more info you can ck it out at www.skype.com . You can also purchase a reguale Skype phone BUT I use my old headset and it works fine.Blessings! TJ
