As an insurance requirement it is not necessary. However, registration requirements vary state to state. We recommend that you contact Florida Department of Motor Vehicles.

bws7000,
its most likely legal if you have a NY residence where you can say that toad is garaged when its not on the road. but I'm not a NY lawyer and certainly not an insurance "expert", so delete this reply if this is a restricted area. I don't pay any attention to which category the question is from, when I go through my "New since your last visit" list of msgs. I have a Ca DL & MH, but one toad licensed from my NM home and another toad at my SD home. most state vehicle reg laws require the vehicle be licensed where it is primarily garaged or stored, which isnt always the same as your domicile, where your one and only DL has to be. thats not just for RV'ers or fulltimers. Lots of NY 'ers have 2nd homes in Fl, with a 2nd car licensed & kept at the Fl home. Lots of Texans have 2nd homes in Aspen/Vail/Steamboat, Co with a jeep licensed and stored at the Co home. If you were Donald Trump, you could theoretically have a car registered in each of the 50 states, if you kept part time residences in each state. but even the Donald is only entitled to one DL jim This message has been edited.
