McManus is hysterical. Back in my working days we would just throw his quotes over the partitions and laughter would could peeling back.

I did try to buy a sweater from him way back in the early 80's in the Eddie Bauer store in Spokane. He was standing alone by a table and looking like he worked in the store. So I asked for some help.

After he explained...we had a great conversation. About 15 years later I gathered up all his books for him to autograph. The line stretched around the block in Wenatchee.

He is a class act. I don't think I ever felt so positive about an English teacher.

He is hysterical. If you will click the "find", (or however you look up stuff), we had a discussion about him awhile back. Thanks for bringing him up again. A good topic. Everyone needs to laugh and he will do it for you.

Here's his official website and it seems they are closing the doors!!!!!
http://www.mcmanusbooks.com/

For RVrs, who brave the unknown and come home to brag about it, never letting on they had few bumps along the way, get them at a library if they have em. If not read them now. He's one of us!!! Just not RV as the subject. If you are a hunter, or married to one, grew up in a small town, or even a big one and as a kid encountered life the universe and everything, well, you will laugh, and cry, sometimes (usually) at the same time.

No I don't expect everyone to have tears streaming when you read him from laughter, no one author can please everyone.

But give him a try. Sidesplitting! For 99.999% of the adult over 40 population.

If you hate to read, you didn't see this anyway, so disregard! Roll Eyes

Shucks, it does look like they're closing the cyber doors.

Maybe it was a little too much to keep up with as he's no doubt getting up there in years.

I had been waiting for him to come out with his VHS play(s?) on DVD and now it appears I won't find that at all. I may have a few of the books tucked away somewhere but my ex wife got most of our collection.

Anyway, sad to hear his website is closing down but hope he and his wife are enjoying those golden years.
