I found this website a few days ago...

http://www.websudoku.com/

Not sure if any of you like these kinds of puzzles or not. They're quite adictive.

So far, I play with the easy ones and find myself painfully slow, at least when comparing me to others' times. Have done a few of the medium ones, but never a hard or evil one.

If you're looking for something to do on a rainy day, maybe you'd enjoy messing with some puzzles.

(And if you only have a limited internet access, Wallyworld has books of these puzzles for a dollar. I know because I bought one for my wife two days ago and she's hooked too! LOL!)

Happy puzzling.

Last Christmas I gave my 85-year-old mother-in-law a paperback version of the puzzle and saw how addictive it can become. Knowing my own weakness for mind games, I refused to take it into the "library" to try it on my own. Then I found a hand-held version in the game section at WalMart (actually difficult to read while traveling)...then I found the site Brian posted...then I found a free downloadable version Simple Sudoku... Yes, it IS addictive but our minds need such activity to ward off senility -- that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Neat site Brian. I have Sudoku books all around the MH. Never thought about playing them against the clock, and comparing times to others. Can't do that with the books.

For those interested, there are several "advanced" techniques that are helpful in solving the tougher puzzles. The Mensa Sudoku book, available at Barnes&Noble does a good job of explainging some of the advanced techniques.

Not sure I like playing the puzzle on-line. One cannot mark "candidates" like can be done on a paper copy. JMO.

My internist just last Monday told me that neurologists have determined this "game" is very good for us older folks to keep our mind sharp. I sure hope so, mine never was before. Roll Eyes

I'm usually pretty good at figuring these things out, though not as fast as some. I don't even bother with the easy or medium as I like a challenge.

But occasionally, one will stump me to the point where I just can't seem to find the next step.

Do any of you know where I might find some advance techniques online? Maybe there's one or two of them that might expand my mind a bit more.

Wink Heaven knows, I can't limit the expanse to ONLY the midsection! LOL!

Nothing like a quickie! LOL!!

I've never done one at that website before but I think my wife goes to a site that's very similar. I think she likes it when it tells you if you've done something wrong or give the little "shake" when you get a whole row right.

Anyway, the easy ones can be fun, too.
