I went to a dealer in San Marcos Ca. and the price was $147 and they told me some times there are spacers needed to make it fit, so I did not buy one.

Spacers? First I've heard of that. Most folks have the same experience I did on my 99 530, one bolt and one plug. Pop the old one out and stick the new one in and you are done.

Someone suggested swapping the new one in when you get it to make sure it is good and to have a known good spare (the old one) on hand if needed.

Well where do I buy one for $50 and is it the same as the one the dealer in San Marcos sells for $147. I was 10 miles form the camp ground on the way to Dr. Apt going 60mph engine light came on and engine quit. I replaced the it 3 years ago. They should be sold by the box of 12 I think.

This is what I bought for my 7.3 TD (F-350). It's packaged as a Ford item but I have to wonder if it's exactly the same thing. You can decide on that one.

If it is the right one, the price ain't bad.

Good luck,

Brian

Thanks I will check to see if the are the same.
I was told they are not the same. I have now found air con. belt has come off the pulleys and may have broken a wire to cam sensor which I can not find, I have a picture of the front of engine showing the cam sensor but there is some much in front of the engine I can not find the cam sensor so it will be towed to a repair shop next week.
