Okay, since I met so many from the Forum during Escapade, it is time to reveal my new avatar. I had surgeries on both eyes recently (now sporting "multifocal lens transplants") so I am minus my "Coke" bottles.

Last time I had Mark do the posting. This time I set-up a Picasa Web Album to host the small 100 x 160 pixels - 6KB .jpg file. (I took the seminar on Picasa during Escapade, and was trying to practice what I learned.) BUT, I can't seem to change my avatar using this link. I know where to go to edit my avatar image, so that is not my problem. It just doesn't want to work with Picasa. Am I missing something?

Judy, this is just a guess, since I'm not really familiar with how to put a picture on this site as an avatar, but the link doesn't go to "just" the picture, but rather to a website where the picture is located. Maybe that's the problem??? Hopefully, someone will be along pretty soon to either confirm what I suspect is true, or tell you the *real* reason why it isn't working. Wink

TWO CENTS WORTH
The story goes that a man died and was approached by the Devil who told him that he could buy his soul back for a dollar. The man searched his pockets and could only come up with 98 cent. While begging the Devil to forget the two cent he was short, an Angel happened by and hearing the Devil laughing, asked the man, "Would you mind if I put in my two cents ?" The Devil got so mad that he exploded in a puff of smoke and the man's soul was saved.
The moral: Sometimes putting in your two cents worth makes a difference.

Hey, Judy, if you want, email it to me, and I'll post it to a blank spot in my web site and send the URL to you. Then, you just plug the URL into your profile page, and we'll be looking at the NEW and COOLER JUDY! You can also send it to Kellie, and when she gets it posted, my copy will disappear from here.... and you can tell me to delete it from my files.... which will mean that I move it over to my 'friends' file, where I have the other photos of you & I last summer. Cool BIG SKP HUGS! Lee

You're welcome, Judy. When Kellie uploads the photo to the SKP server, I doubt that anyone will be the wiser.... should look the same. Let me know so I can move my copy out of that storage bin, ok? Have a nice day.... Lee

Hey Judy,

Lookin' good girl!! Wink

I'm sorry I did not even look at the forum this weekend. When I left the office at 5:00 PM on Thursday evening, I locked the door and did not look back. Big Grin

BTW, thank you Lee!

That is why the call it a HOLIDAY weekend. You're working and earned the weekend off. (Retirees, on the otherhand, have to be told when it is a holiday weekend so we stay parked to let others play.)

Just let us know when you can put the image on YOUR server so Lee can remove it from hers.

Judy

Kellie, I was getting caught up on the planned forum switch-over and followed Mark's instructions to see where our Avatar photos were being hosted. Looks like my current avatar is still being hosted on Lee Jacob's website. Do you have time to move it to the SKP server? Do I need to re-send it or can you click on it to copy it?

Thanks for all the hard work on the changes.
Judy

Not causing any problem there, Judy.... whenever you & Kellie are ready to move it will be fine. In fact, I probably wouldn't have time to delete or move my copy, anyhow, so it's no bother and no problem. How're you liking the glassless look? I've had two cataract surgeries this month, and don't even recognize myself without glasses. I can't go around for long without glasses, though.... just until everything's healed enough to get an accurate reading on the exam. Hope you're enjoying your summer... Lee

Judy, for now just copy the URL... if Lee doesn't mind hosting the pic, there's no reason to move it. Smile

The Escapees Discussion forum has moved to a new home! Please use www.rvnetwork.com to access the new forum, or click on the Discussion Forum link on any Escapees.com webpage header. Thanks!

All user accounts have been moved to the new board, but each user will need to go through the lost password process to re-activate their username. You will have to click on “login” and then on “Lost Password”. Enter either your forum login name or your forum email address. The forum will email you password recovery instructions. Follow these to get a temporary password, then log in and change your password to whatever you like on your profile page.

Once you are able to log in, you should find that all the current topics are where they belong, and you can begin learning about some of the new board's features. If you have questions, post them in the "Learning the new forum" area and we'll do our best to help. The new board is very similar in functionality to the old one, but some things will seem quite different at first. There is a pretty good help function on the new board. Just click on "Help" in the upper right corner of the page header.

In most cases, the best way to learn the new board is to experiment! If you are not sure what something does, click on it! You'll notice that we have created a test area where you can post tests to your heart's content. We have also created a “Learning the new forum” area so that users can assist each other in learning the new board.

All users will need to set up their avatars again. For those users that we host, there is an avatar set called “Old forum user avatars” that contains all of the custom avatars currently hosted by us. Just browse through it until you find your own picture, and select it. (Please don't select someone else's picture just to be cute!)

If your avatar is currently hosted somewhere else, you will need to have that URL available in order to set up your avatar on the new board. If you prefer to use a stock avatar, we have a large assortment of new avatars you can choose from in the avatar Base Gallery.

The old forum remains available for login. Even though there are no active or visible forums here, you can still log in and access your profile pages to recover any info you need. This old board will shut down permanently at the end of September.
