What did Mama say? If you cannot say something nice about someone, do not say anything at all. That might have been mentioned already. Can you believe it, 6 pages starting this month. You did good Nick.

Typing has been my "job" for 37-38 years. Sometimes an error will leak out though. One funny was....."she wants constipated ovaries". It should have been "she wants to conserve her ovaries". Guess what, this was the big boss, my top-most supervisor that I was typing her history and physical. Now, she would not think it was funny but after this length of time, I thought it was the best mistake I have made in 37-38 years of mistakes. Luckily someone caught it before it went to her power chart.

LOL! That's a good one, Mims.

I've never heard of anyone wanting to "conserve" that particular body part before. It makes me wonder if a more appropriate word might have been "preserve", but I'm certainly no medical expert.

I enjoyed the funny, though.

Got this in an e-mail the other day and thought of this forum post.
I, too, am one of those people who could get annoyed by all the grammatical and spelling errors in posts. My pet peeve: the word "too". Folks, if you can substitute "also", your "to" needs another "o". I guess it bugs me, because English is my second language and I used to beat myself up over every little mistake I made. I guess I need to lighten up, on others and on myself.

I am not the best when it comes to typing either. Some people need to just get a life and let it go. Most of the time I can understand what they are saying so what's the point of rubbing their nose in it. Life is too short to make a big deal of a few mistakes. John

Hey Terry, I was the first in my family to get a college degree. But I still have problems with spelling. Too many years on the production floor for General Motors. As they say, if you don't use it, you lose it. John

My mother won awards for spelling when in school. Once I left home and she started writing letters to me, she discovered she could no longer spell well. The letters were more important than the spelling, though.

All very interesting. Not everyone has a editor for a wife like I do, but most have spell checkers. I agree that the spelling is a lot less important than the thought. Lots of good information comes from great folks who can't spell worth a darn - but it really doesn't matter.
