Randy,
I have Foremost on both our 2008 F-350 pickup and our 5th wheel. My question is; why does Foremost list our pickup as a motorhome (or motorcoach)? Will this create a problem if (heaven forbid) we have an accident? We are fulltimers and are registered in SD. We've had the coverage since last summer. Thanks in advance. Good question. On the declaration page (page 1) we call it a motor home. In your policy jacket (the folded pages of the rest of the policy) we define the word "motor home" to mean also a medium duty truck. The recognition that your vehicle is other than a motor home is taken care of by the definitions in the policy jacket.

But Randy, his vehicle is not a Medium Duty Truck. Its a pickup. Do you also call pickups Motorhomes?

A little more explaination:
Foremost considers any truck with a GVWR over 10,000lbs a medium duty truck. Why 10,000lbs? Because 10,000lbs GVWR puts the vehicle outside of the private passenger auto laws in most states. Many F-350 Fords and C-3500 Chevrolets qualify for our insurance program because they have a GVWR that exceeds 10,000lbs. Not a "real" MDT, but a MDT as designated by passenger auto regulation. |
