Has anybody used the new "Mighty Putty" advertised on TV?
It sounds like great stuff...if it really works the way it shows.

Channel 4, Fox DFW, in Dallas, TX on their Deal of Dud series ran a test on this stuff and it didn't do anything that was advertized.

DW picked up some at Big Lots, less than half of TV price. In my toolbox, haven't tried it yet. Smile

There is a similar 2 part epoxy putty made by JB Weld or some other familiar manufacturer. I saw it at WalMart just a couple weeks ago. It was much cheaper than the stuff on TV and I bet it would actually work. I have yet to see anything offered on TV in one of the "But wait!!!" commercials that is worth anything or works as presented. I don't know how those hucksters stay in business. Lots of gullible people, I guess. Big Grin

I have used and really like PC7 gray and PC11 white (marine can be used under water) epoxy. They are mixed together 50/50 Part A & Part B.

Most hardware stores carry them. They come in several size containers.

After watching the add on Tv I decided to call and ask some questions about it before i bought some. THe recording that you get is so OBNOXIOUS ,,,,,there is no way to get a human being to talk to. Totally turned me off to the product, so i got to their website and read some reviews about Mighty Putty.. There are several products that do the same thing in local stores and work just as well

When I was a Squidsh***er, we had a plastic bag of stuff, you kneaded it & slapped it over even high pressure ruptured steam lines & it would harden & seal it.

Thanks to all who wrote!
In the meantime I've seen it in a store a little cheaper and bought some. I didn't know about all of the other similar products.
Haven't used the Mighty Putty yet...The reason I bought it was because their pitch man (don't remember his name).Even though he always screams, I have had good luck with some of the product he has advertised. I never buy it from TV, because I'm afraid that we would get flooded with unwanted ads then.
The "Shark" knife sharpener works well and it's compact. Oxiclean is great for getting stains out and I like "Kaboom". It keeps the fiberglass shower and door sparkling.
So, thanks again for writing.I hope that I won't be disappointed when using the product.

I'll bet that the stuff is advertised by "Bill Mays" -- the guy with that obnoxious voice. I wouldn't buy anything that he advertises. I just can't stand the voice and hit the remote when I hear "Bill Mays here!".

JMHO--and that of my ears.

I bought some, and have used it 3 times. Once on a broken shelf in the shed fridge, once on a small lever handle on the pantry pullout in the MH, and once on a part of the Hughesnet dish.

It worked every time. The lever is still in place, shelf same thing, and the part on the dish seems stable.

Hey, it's great to hear, Bob!
I looks like that I haven't wasted any money.
As I said, the products I have tried so far, which Bill Mays (even if he screams obnoxiously) advertises, have been good so far.

I bought the same stuff that the nasty warewolf sells on TV. The deal he sells is several tubes of it for $19.95, more than you will use in several life times. I bought this in Walmart I think and cost about $3.00. I have used JB Weld for about 20 years and although it is a great product, this PC Plumbing Epoxy Putty is much better and does not run like JB. It is VERY strong and I think a must for every tool box. I had a handyman business for 12 years and would have loved to have this new stuff.

The nasty werewolf??!! Lol! I love it!

Anyway, I didn't pay that much for it either.
As I said, I never buy anything trough the TV Ad, because I don't want to inundated with junk mail.
