Looking for ideas to remove the smell from a previous car owner that was a smoker. Not an RV but a really good deal on a car if I can fix the smell. Ideas?

I use FABREZE ..(**).. spray... it works great on all odors..

You may have to spray the entire interior throughly at least two or three times before you will notice any big difference.

I sprayed my RV twice a week for a couple of weeks.

Each time I sprayed heavily until everything was damp as per the instructions on the Fabreze spray bottle.

After the third (4th .?) spray job, there was no more odor...

I have continued to use the store brand..(**).. of Fabreze about once a week and the entire RV and both trucks smell nice and fresh.

The store brand works just as good as the name brand and is less than half the price.. Smile

TWO CENTS WORTH
The story goes that a man died and was approached by the Devil who told him that he could buy his soul back for a dollar. The man searched his pockets and could only come up with 98 cent. While begging the Devil to forget the two cent he was short, an Angel happened by and hearing the Devil laughing, asked the man, "Would you mind if I put in my two cents ?" The Devil got so mad that he exploded in a puff of smoke and the man's soul was saved.
The moral: Sometimes putting in your two cents worth makes a difference.

when I bought my Saturn Vue it had a really bad smokers odor, the dealer took it back to the service dept where they used some sort of negative ionizer machine, in about an hour it was odor free and has remained so for the last two years.

At Sam's Club you can buy a product called Odor-Ban; costs around $10 and comes only in gallon size. HOWEVER, when you get it home, you dilute it way down. We bought a car last year where we swear the previous owner had cigarette smoking parties in it! First we cleaned it out the best we possibly could; first with Ivory Soap and water, then with vinegar and water, then we replaced the carpet, and finally everytime we got into it for the first couple of weeks we sprayed the entire thing down with the diluted Odor-Ban (the wife left a spray bottle of it in the car).

Since doing this combination of things we've had no odors - except when the DOG passes gas!!! Confused...Mickey Moose

Ozone generator. They use them for fire restorations. You should be able to rent one and leave it locked up inside the rig running for a day or so.

Ozone machine wil get the job done and it will last. When you do the inside of your auto or motor homes be sure the carpet is dry. Also set the machine on a small crate with holes (apple crate) this lets you treat the the area where the machine is sitting. If not you could still have an oder in that area. You can check with an auto detail shop i used to charge $50.00.

.....make sure you have at least 2 fans circulating the air on high also....Ozone can be dangerous if concentrated.....air it out before using.....it will age rubber very quickly......I use an Ozone-R # 887 generator that cost $450.00 and it will kill oder within 4-5 days with a pre-cleaning and a post cleaning......and then a good shot of Fabreeze on the carpet and any cloth surfaces only....have teated apartments where someone has died and left for 10 days......geofkaye

A cleaning machine called the Little Green Machine will do an amazing job of removing the particulate matter from the fabric.

While Fabreeze and the Ozone generators do a good job of nuetralizing odor, a green machine will removed a lot of the particulate carcinogens that are in the fabric.

FWIW...
