I notice you have a 5er - does this resort permit non-motorized RV's???

They allow self-contained TTs, 5ers, and MHs that are about 18 ft or longer. We are headed there this coming weekend. Big Grin

Jack the only problem I have seen with this group is they don't allow motorcycles of any type past the gate. Other than that if U can afford it they are good.

Katfish16, You are correct in that they do not allow you to ride motorcycles inside the security gate but there is an area for staging inside the gate and close to the clubhouse where motorcycle groups meet and travel to and from the staging area. All bikes past that area must be transported.

Jack, there are quite a number of "big rigs" there, a lot MDT's with fivers and a few class 8's around. My unit is a 35' Holiday Rambler 5th wheel with an F450 tow vehicle. I am also considering selling the whole package if someone is interested. I presently am tied down due to taking care of an aging parent..not complaining though...glad to have her around. The truck is an 04 with 19,000 miles on it. Towing miles has been around 3500 on the truck and about 4500 on the fiver. It's a shame to let a rig like this set around. At least it is undercover at the site

New price in $173,500 and a note that water is included in quarterly fee. Makes a great home base for the winter. Email for pictures.

Looks like a nice place, but... way out of my realm of possibility, at least right now.

FWIW, I could pay the current lot rent where my trailer is currently parked for about 40 years for $173k.

Dems be a mighty lot of beans to us po folk.

Big Grin

Sincerely, it does sound like a very nice place. Best of luck selling it.

LOL! You're right, Jack. I can't sell the one I'm on now,... cause it belongs to someone else. The law people get kinda upset when a guy sells what he doesn't own. Might get me 3 hots and a cot but I don't know if I can handle the new girlfriend named "Bubba".

Eek Big Grin

Actually, truth be known, I've been kinda yearning for a piece of ground to own where I could park the trailer for a time, maybe raise a garden, maybe have a shed to store some things, (freezer, maybe)... that kind of thing. It would be nice to have a place to just plant myself for a while if I didn't want a job, didn't want to be in a park and didn't want close neighbors, or maybe just needed to save some cash for fuel. Not sure Carl's place is quite right for us,... probably need more "green", but there's a place out there somewhere for us that'll do the trick.

Hope I didn't offend with my earlier comments, they were said in jest, honest. It really does appear to be a nice place and probably a "fit like a glove" property for someone reading.

Smile

TGO is a great place. We've stayed there a couple times and it is the best of both worlds. Great location, beautiful natural preservation land, and well maintained facilities. THE RV lots are a little more than some places but well worth it considering all the amenities! We have motorized scooters and had no problem zipping around on those. Have several friends there that love it. Great investment too. We wish we had bought a lot several years ago when we first stayed there. They also have a rally area and pavillion.
Just what you need Jack! You don't have a lot in the SE yet!RDBE#1

Walt S, the address is 418 Plantation Dr. When you go to the tgo website and take a look at the map, it is located just in back of and slightly east of the 12th green. I presently have it for sale "by owner" and have not turned it over to the TGO Realty as of this time.

Some additional info about TGO. You can buy/sell/rent outside of the TGO reality office. We did. We bought directly from the owner of the lot (he was buying a lot across the street on the water). We have a regular lot with only a storage shed and the value has tripled since 2004. I don't go there now since loosing my husband, so it is in the rental pool through the reality agency. They take 30%. I take it as a write off on my taxes. I usually break even. But if you want, you can rent the lots yourself, you just have to do the paperwork for FL. When I want to go out there, I just let the office know ahead of time and they remove it from the rental pool. But since it is a deeded lot, you pay your own property taxes, and electric. Included in the monthly maintenance fees are sewer, water, cable tv, and use of all the facilities. A great place which I will probably go back to someday. Hence why mine is not for sale at this time. But who knows what will happen down the road. So far my rental income has paid for all my annual expenses on the place.

Judy, thanks for the additional information about TGO. I had not really considered a rental but may do so in the near future should I not sell during the summer. Has your experience been to rent just the lot or is there more demand for the lot with a fifth wheel already on site. Since my lot has what is called the executive suite on it with full kitchen, bath and laundry, I would prefer to pull my fifth wheel off and not rent it. Any additional insite that you may have would be appreciated. Please send info via a PM so we don't tie up the forum with questions and answers. Thanks again.
