John,

Check with the folks at Teton Motors in Jackson, Wy. We purchased a new Wrangler Sahara from them on May 5th of this year. They are truly great to deal with. They have a good selection of used Jeeps and they are authorized Jeep dealers. Talk with "Racin" Jason, we dealt with him and the sales manager and were treated fairly with respect. All in all a great buying experience.

Thanks for the suggestion. I may just buy a new Jeep since its a bit hard to find a used one near here that hasn't seen more than it's share of off road use. I can buy a new Jeep at dealer invoice cost, or perhaps a bit lower, from either of the two closest Jeep dealers to us (Livingston and Bozeman, MT). Jackson Hole is quite a ways farther from us, and through YNP.

Just a thought,
If you are saying you are going to buy then sell after this summer the lifetime warranty may work against you. Since it is not transferable to the second owner, trying to recoup most of your investment after a few months may be difficult, when for a few thousand more a new one can be had with the lifetime warranty. If I misread your intent and you are planning on keeping it then the Jeep would be an excellent choice.

Although we had talked to a local Jeep dealer about the possibility of buying a new Jeep and selling it back to him at the end of the summer, that idea would have been pretty costly (about $5-6,000 for 4 months use) so we didn't pursue it. If I get a new Jeep it would be one to keep for the long term.

When we bought our Sahara, Teton had an '07 Rubicon with 410 miles that had been sold back to them. Someone had purchased it for their pilots to use when they were in town and it just sat so they sold it back to the dealer.
