dutch1918, we have one of those in our rig which started giving trouble when trying to change temp settings.

I disassembled it and cleaned the contacts using alcohol, didn't have any contact cleaner which would be much better.

After cleaning, it now works great. A warning, should you decide to disassemble it, there's tiny little springs that can get lost quick if they launch.

So I would suggest that you prepare your work area very carefully so if the springs should launch you don't lose them.

I did same as Jim and got one working pretty well for a while. I eventually found a used one. There are lots of used ones around because there is an updated controller in the new AC's which require the 5 button type. Best place to look would be on some of the individual brand sites such as the Newmarowners club over on Yahoo. Other brands also have their own dedicated sites.

Maybe you guys can help me. On my Duo Therm 4 button control I use the "Auto" setting for the A/C with the other switch set to "Cool". The compressor cycles on and off but the rig stays cold even if I set the temperature control all the way up as far as it will go. The temp outside might be 80 and the temp inside the RV will be 65...brrrr.

Am I doing something wrong or has my control gone bad...maybe I need to clean it ???

Any ideas.

On our thermostat the "auto" setting is for the fan only.

We have 2 AC units and to switch between zones 1 & 2 I push the "fan" and "mode" button simultaneously then set whatever temp I want for each respective zone. 1 being the living room and 2 the bedroom.

If you have the zones set at different temperatures then the AC unit for that particular zone will run until the temp demand is met.

If you have both zones, say set for 90 degrees, on the cool mode and the AC units still run cooling interior down to 65 degrees then something is definitely wrong, perhaps a problem with AC unit(s) circuit boards.

If you only have one AC unit and with the problem you describe, I would suspect a problem with the AC unit's circuit board. You may want to try and contact a Dometic Tech Rep and perhaps they can help.

Here's a link to their website: http://www.dometic.com/enus/Americas/USA/Contact/

Best of luck, Jim
