You wouldn't mix the two systems, they are not designed to work together.

The pressure pro types are nice as you get real time info in your cab.

The manual systems only give you a reading when stopped or running really fast alongside the rig where you can see them. :-)

Overall cost is one reason one might consider the crossfires. Another is the single, easy access fill point for both tires and another is the auto-equilizing that they do in off camber situations as shown on their website. Keeping the air pressure equilized in both duals when driving on a cambered road (most highways).

Now, for an honest opinion, I would rather have pressure pros especially in the light weight world of RV towing. But running tandems makes it expensive and I just don't "Get down" there too well to unscrew the pressure pros to add air.. not that I should have to do it that often... but when I do, it is always in bad weather and bad light and I am already hurting from the stress of the situation.

The lack of a "through the sensor fill" on the pressure pro systems is my main reluctance factor.

I am running the Spiro gauges on Dakotr for now. They are not at all accurate but I can glance at them and see if a tire is down 5 lbs from what it was... but, like the pressure pros, they have to be individually removed to put in air, and that is something I have too much experience with.

Sure, would I like to throw money at the problem? You bet, along with a number of other problems, too that we are "living with" for the time being.

To me, being safer is number one and less expensive steps will do the job, for the time being.

Mike I will let you know when I am ready to get my Pressure Pro system, though. Hopefully, by that time, they will have a through the sensor fill solution available.

OOps, just heard a power transformer fuse blow up the street. Gonna be awhile before this gets out, now. GOtta power stuff down til they get it fixed... Darn Squirrels.

Hi Mike [Tetoner],

As you know we have the pressure pros on all other tires. [Truck, trailer, and Jeep] They work fine in those positions. We tried to put them on the duals with the "Cat's Eyes but the stem is configured in such a way that the pressure pros would not fit. We debated about removing the "Cat's Eyes" but opted to leave them on for the reasons stated above.

Keep makin' happy tracks,

Bob T

Emery, I understand completly. Hope your power is back on!!!

Bob T, I knew you ran the PressurePro system, Heck your one of my good customers! But I wasn't sure if you ran a Sensor on your CatsEye or not. I have several customers that have the CatsEye or the Crossfire's,,,,,CrossFires I believe, that are running the PressurePro's on it. I was wondering just how that worked. Like what it would do if one tire developed a slow leak as you were driving down the road. Would it send a low pressure signal up to the Monitor, or would it just isolate the low pressure tire and continue monitoring the good tire and not give a warning that you had one dual flat? Thats where I am coming from. Can anyone tell me?

Thanks
Mike
