I have an extendable(10') fiberglass handle, and 12" RV brush,5G bucket-to which I add a few oz bleach and some car wash soap. The soap cleans well and leaves a shine, while the bleach kills any mold/mildew present.

Welcome to the list! ...vverevvolf??

I use the same stuff on my clearcoated motorhome paint that I've used on my cars for years -- J Wax Car Wash by Turtle Wax. It goes in the bucket with water, get the coach wet, appy with car wash sponge or with brush, rinse off. It cleans well and leaves a great shine. For the lower areas I use a large hand sponge, and the higher areas I use a telescoping car wash brush. I find we don't normally need a full wash more than a couple of times a year (other than the front which I normally clean after we arrive at a new location), and aren't in that many RV parks that prohibit washing.

I do have some FW1 (aka Fast Wax), which is a dry wash stuff supposedly used by Nascar, but I don't use it much ... only when really desperate to clean something up. All that wax on/wax off is too much like work, and stresses my feet and hands much more than they appreciate.

I have been using a special marine grade wax esp. for fiberglass and just dish soap for soap along with a soft sponge and a brush, however, some folks I know here, (Rainbow's End) have asked me if I would wash there rig, and though I have a good idea of what to charge I am worried about using a long reach brush on someone else's rig like I use on mine. Call me nervous, about washing someone else's rig. So I was looking around for ideas and tips.
I have looked at waterless but those require shaded areas, and that is not always easy to find and you won't find at Rainbow's End except in the section they call the trees.
Some places recommend using wd 40 to take the love bugs off, I have read all kinds of ideas so the more I get the more I can consolidate and find something most people are comfortable with.

Dri Wash 'n Guard Ultra-Ion can be used in direct sunlight. I shine mine all the time in the direct sunlight. It is designed to be used in any naturally occurring temperature range.

I will just mention the usual word of caution here about being sure that whatever you use to clean with you avoid getting anything with petroleum distillates in it on any EPDM rubber roof, intentionally or by accident. It will ruin it or shorten its life. Dicor.com has a lot of info about caring for EPDM rubber roofs.

Other than that, many people have had good success with Simple Green to wash the rest of their rigs. Removing Black streaks can be a problem and a number of things have been suggested by others including GoJo hand creme (non abrasive type) and LA Awesome cleaner from the Dollar Tree stores ( which also takes a lot of the yellowing off of exterior PVC parts like refrigerator exterior vents and doors).

With most campgrounds not allowing the washing of vehicles and Boondock areas being short on water supply I use Windex and paper towel and just do a small area at a time. Just be careful to dust any sand off the surface first. I use a bath towel and don't apply any pressure. It keep the rig looking good all the time except when I have pulled in a rain storm then it takes a week or so to get all around the RV. I wax once a year with just about any automotive way when I'm at a place that will allow it.

We wash and wax ours by going to Mexico. You can have it done down there for $1 - $1.50 per foot.

California Duster And Protect-All.

No soap, No water, except when it rains! After 2.6 years, still has showroom shine.

Wait a minute, they didn't have a showroom.

Oh well!, if they did it would still have a showroom shine.
