I feel a little dense asking this, but here I go. We have an used 5th wheel that has the BigFoot hydraulic levelers. Leveling is no problem, but how high do you lift your coach to reduce or eliminate the suspension bounce? I realize we wouldn't want to lift the wheels off the ground, but do you actually lift enough to take the load off the springs?

If its not level then follow the instructions in the owners manual to re-level the RV...I have found that if the front jacks are low the system does not level high enough and you can get a little movement in the RV... Also I have noticed movement when the hydralic leveler feet have sunk into the soft ground at some sites and this causes movement in the RV ...of course just put something under the feet to give it more bearing capacity and then releveling will fix that....JMHO ..Jim Jim&Hazel,03 Volvo 610,425hp,10sp Autoshift,Eaton 3:90 rear,24.5Alum,184"wb,Trailersaver air,SafVis Cams4,XM,Press/Pro,Garmin2720,CB,Rally Sport/TS,Bigfoot Levelers,03Roadking,02Dyna Lowrider,Golden Ret in spirit,Choc Lab(Trash)..Herrin Hauler Bed..Toyota FJ ...SKP# 95463 http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2901871210078354682lLxYIz |

Even if the wheels are off the ground, I get some movement in high winds and in the high speed spin cycle of the washer. A good tripod helps just a little.

Larry,
I have BF too. And a heavy 5er with Mor/Ryde IS. IMO there is nothing you can do to make it as stable as a house. It is going to move "some" even with most of the load off the suspension. To me, it is no issue....you get used to it. Although we do not move "much". Thank you all for your answers. I was just worried about stressing or bending the frame. I know RVs aren't "rock steady", but I felt we were getting more "bounce" than our previous 5th wheel, which I stabilized with scissor jacks. I will try your suggestions. Thanks again for your help.

If the jacks are mounted to the Chassis, once they are on the ground, the suspension is out of the picture. You will still notice some motion but if all 4 are down, no matter where there is downward force, it will run into the jacks.
