Current Positive & Negative Diesel Purchase Reports:

1. Reported by Wrknrvr on 08/21/08

Good, Bad and ugly fuel, On april 4th 2008 we purchased 98+- gallons of deisel fuel from the Murghy staion at Wal-Mart in Brooksville Fl. I was very careful as in the trottle use and cruise control on our way north to Ocala Fl. and then north through the carolinas. At best I was just under 8mpg. I figured that this was about 28% less than what we average. With the purchase of 50 gallons in Rock Hill SC at Flying J the fuel milage rose to almost 10 mpg when we were in Pa. on I-81. Our truck has an instantanious readout so it is easy to watch fuel milage at present time and on average. I do remenber that most of the local trucks bought fuel at a Hess station about 8 miles south of Brooksville Fl.

Shops I have had work performed at:

Rocky Mountain truck Service LLC
Great Falls, Montana
406 452 8561 Owners: John H. and John R.

This is a great place to have in your book for ANY HDT truck repair. They are a full service truck shop for HDT's, diesel engine work, Pickup truck repair, hitch installs, Axle singling, you name it. I had John pull the power divider on our Volvo for us and do numerous inspections for me. They are in the process of building a brand new facility on the east side of town, so I am not sure of their future address which should be changing any week now. If you are planning a trip to Montana, Great Falls is centrally located between the parks and just across the pass from Missoula.
I started out as a customer with them and have felt like family ever since. They will do right by you no matter what.
If you need a place to stay while your truck is being repaired, Dick's RV park is just down the street from their current location. A mile or so at best.

For new and used Volvos (and Macks, GMC) in the PNW:

Bruce Casebeer, Fleet Manager
Husky Trucks
Tukwila, WA (S of Seattle)
(800) 325-4709
bruce.casebeer@huskytrucks.com

For power enhancements, general RV Toter and MH maintenance and repair, great automotive electrical:

Chuck Arnold, Owner
The Power Shop
Enumclaw, WA (E of Tacoma)
(360) 825-9400
www.thepowershop.com
chuck@thepowershop.com

I've had tremendous results with both of these people and highly recommend them.

Great Job!

Maybe "Mark the moniter" could set a file that we could place info like this.

Other message groups have files located at the top of the message page set up as a FAQ or Look here First files.

Would save a lot of time and help us newbies.

We could have four or five subjects:

Conversions

Lisencing/Registration

Repairs

For Sale

Meets

Thanks again

Any one have a source to repair fiberglass bumper? I read the list kinda fast. So I may missed it.

Also I am thinking do the job myself, what is the procedure and where to get the fiber cloth and resin? Are those in Wal-Mart or auto shop good?

Thanks!

Jon, great work, thanks for getting this organized.

I have one small favor or at least question: what is the significance of the RED BOLD font in the resource guide for some of the recommended resources?

In the case of the Bed/Body builders, I can recommend with highest standing The Fab Shop in Edgewood WA, yet their lack of bold type makes me wonder if I didn't do a good enough job emphasizing their quality and value. In any event, Anyone wanting a great result in the Northwest should certainly get a design and quote from them.

Thanks,

Cal

Cal,

The "RED BOLD" is a link to the supplier/vender/fabricator's web site.

Oh, of course Henry. Why didn't I think of that?

The web site for The Fab Shop is: www.thefabshop.biz and the site for Husky Truck Center is: www.huskytrucks.com
