My wife and I plan to attend. We're still very much in the wannabe stage, just starting to research what brand 5th wheel to get for full time use and what to haul it with. I never would have considered having to go the HDT route, but some members here are starting to convince me that's the way to do it right. So we want to come meet people, attend some seminars and hopefully get to see some of your set ups.

Problem is we can only attend one full day, so we're seeking advice on which single day might be the most productive for us to meet people and maybe attend a seminar or two along the lines of things a newbie needs to know first.

Mark, I voted "no". It would be fun, but isn't on our way anywhere in Sep/Oct. Fuel prices are the major factor, but we have other obligations with grandkids and friends now.

Mark,

You know our situation but many other may not.

I am not sure if many of you know or it or not but we I have had a request for US residency papers (i.e. a Green Card) in for Kathie. I have one myself. She has been in the process for 4 years now. She travelled home to Windsor for Mothers day and when she tried to return to the US an ill informed, Gestapo type Immigration officer decided quite wrongly that she was not allowed to enter the USA in her status. His resultant action (he red flagged her passport) effectively puts her in the same status as terrorists that will be arrested if an attempt to reenter the USA is tried. So effectively she is stuck in Canada until her Green Card request is approved. The estimated time for that is 1-2 years. Sucks big time but decisions of front line Immigration officers are rarely overturned from what I understand. Several lawyers and other immigration officers tell us that what that officer did was uncalled for but still stands. I will be spending the summer with Kathie in Canada and returning to Retama for the winter to live and work there. I doubt I will be at the HDT rally since that time will have to be taken from Kathies time and she has already voted a "I don't think so"!

Mark,
Me and Freda will not be going this year.
Mostly fuel cost is the factor. We have been attending the rally then heading down to NM.
The miles to ICT or HUT would be extra for us.
Have a good one..

The MDT Roundup (mini rally) is Oct 1 to the 4th
We will park in the East parking lot UNLESS you plan to attend the HDT rally also then you will be parked with the HDT'ers so you won't have to move. Registrations are separate. Please let me know if you plan to come to the Roundup! Although it is very informal and all social I need to have an estimate of the # of rigs attending. I reserved 15 sites but if we exceed it's OK. Thanks a bunch and see you there! SmileDavena (RDBE #1)& 1st VP MDT BOF

This is really heard. We would love to be with you all this year. We learned so much when we were there as a "want-to-be's". Now that we "are" and are out on the west coast, timing is such that we can't make it. We will schedule it in for next year. This rally was the most helpful of everything we did in preparation for full timing.
