In a few days I will be traveling to Harriman State park in Idaho for volunteer work. I plan to go from Rock Springs, Wy, on Route 191, to Jackson, WY and then over Teton Pass on route 22 out of Jackson, WY. I know it has 10% grade on both sides, but how is the road? Also Idaho routes 33 and 32 from the WY/ID border to Ashton, Id.
Thanks
Jerry

Oh boy, Teton Pass is one I'll always remember because it was the first time my Class C , on a Ford 450 V-10 , was literally crawling up a road. That 10% grade is for real. The road has been in good condition , but there are various cowboy crazies who drive too fast. The road is used for commuters, so try to avoid the westbound "rush hour" from Jackson. I'm going to visit my friends in Driggs again soon, but will be sure to come in from the ID side, and we can go into Jackson in their car, the proper way. The other roads you mentioned are fine. Took that route last year to Island Park. Ashton is a good stop. If you have to do Teton, be careful on the descent. Good place to stop at the top.

We were in Tetonia a few weeks ago. We went over that pass a couple of times in our chase car, but not with our rig. Anyway, IMHO you will be fine. I never checked numbers on our GPS, but it seemed to me that from the top of the pass down to Idaho was not as bad as from the top back to Jackson.

The road is in good condition, and there are passing lanes all the way up for others to go around you.

I think this pass is fine going from east to west, but west to east might be another story.

Edit: there is a great supermarket in Driggs, you will want to stock up before going up to Harriman, as there aren't any stores up in that area. (the parking lot usually has room for a rig your size)
