OR, more specifically, I need a web host that wants to be a player in this industry.

e-mail for contracts and offers.

(We would like to offer specific classes for RV owners, from driving, to solar panels, for example.)

Any principles should apply. (e-mail mv@vfemail.net)

It is not clear at all to me what you are asking.

Are you providing computer based training and want a place to host the training? Are you providing a website with info and are looking for a hosting service? If so, there are thousands of them. I use 1&1 and like them a lot.

If you are providing a hosting service for people offering RV-related services then that is a different thing altogether.

COuld you explain a little further?

Sorry, Jack! I've been out of country for a couple of months...

What I was looking for was someone to help me revise and maintain a web site for a corporation I was working for at the time. I was hired to do a turn around and it worked, sort of....I was going to hire an outside vendor (due to incompetence), but politics dictated an in house solution instead.

Anyway, I'm sorry to have not answered sooner, as you have been a great asset in this forum.

However, I run into this problem all the time. Whether I'm working with start-ups or the grateful dead, all need a web presence, and it's tough to find an independent web designer/troubleshooter to work with. While I can see the problems clearly, I often don't have anyone to delegate.

Does anyone here offer such a service? I was really thinking outside the box on this one!

I'll go on the record though. If I can find a dependable, articulate, guy to help me with these types of problems, I can throw some business their way. Some pay very well, too.

Mike

Mike, thanks for your reply. That explains it.

Would you expect your web designer to handle the graphics as well, or would you have a graphics designer for that. Or expect to have the web designer subcontract that?

Have you thought about discussing this with Chris Gould - Geeks on Tour?? Checkhere. This may be a service they would provide.

What kind of turnaround work do you do? I used to do the same in the computer industry....you can PM me if you wish.

Our family business does maintenance as well as design. We all work remotely (which allows me to fulltime!!), and my mom is a great project manager. We take care of very large clients (like Cisco) down to small non-profits. The company website: Ewert Communications

It is a small company with lots of resources. We keep a pool of independent developers and designers to be able to scale to any size project. Give Sharon a call if it sounds like something you can use.
