Hello,
We've registered for a June 26 HOP, and to come into Escapade on June 25. Our HOP confirmation e-mail says we can come in on June 25th, between 10 am and 2 pm.

However, our e-ticket says to come in between 8 am and 2 pm.

I'm hoping someone from Escapees will jump in here and clarify whether we are to come in beginning at 8 am, or at 10 am. Thanks.

Connie

Hello Connie,
Your eticket does indeed say 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. for arrival time. However, for those arriving on 6/25 for a HOP, we have asked that you not come in until 10:00 a.m. since your hosts will not be there at 8:00 a.m. to answer any questions you may have.
Thanks,
Louise, HOP Director

Thanks.
Louise

Louise, thanks for the info. We've got about 100 miles to travel, so chances are, we wouldn't be there at 8 am anyway. But I was just wondering. Ten is much better.

See you there,
Connie

I'm glad I saw this post as we are doing the exact same thing as Connie.
We've been trying to figure out where to stay the day before we come in on the 25th also. We are also taking a HOP tour on the 26th. We finally found a place to stay in Buffalo, however we are coming from Golden Colorado and don't know where we will stay on the 23rd. We hate paying 40+ dollars just to stay over night.

We are coming into Gillette from Buffalo on hwy 90. We have no idea what exit we are to take to Camp Plex.
I did not understand the directions given to those coming from south or north of Gillette.

Barb, I'm staying in Buffalo at Big Horn from 22-25th, we can travel in together maybe. According to Streets & Trips it looks pretty simple.

Depart Big Horn Mtns Campground on I-90 Bus [US-16] (East) 0.6 mi
Take Ramp (RIGHT) onto I-90 69.0 mi
At exit 128, turn RIGHT onto Ramp 0.5 mi Gillette / Port of Entry
Keep RIGHT to stay on Ramp 65 yds
Turn RIGHT (East) onto US-14 [WY-51] 0.8 mi
Turn RIGHT (South) onto S Garner Lake Rd 0.4 mi
Turn LEFT (East) onto Windmill Dr 0.1 mi
Turn RIGHT (South) onto Reata Dr 0.3 mi
Arrive CAM-PLEX

SKP hugs,

Froggie is correct but a better way would be to stay on I-90 until the 129 exit which is Garner Lake Road. It is a straighter shot into the Cam-Plex.

Things are starting to hum here as we get ready for you. The people of Gillette are really friendly and we have found some great local places to eat.

See you all soon!!

Hi Donna, I made a reservation for Tuesday at Indian Campground... I don't know were that is located in relation to where you are staying, but it would be nice to get together and arrive at the same time. I wonder if we arrive at the same time, if they will park us near to each other?
What tour are you taking on the 26th? We are taking The Presidents and Indians tour on Thursday and the Battlefield tour on the 28th.

This is our first Escapade and we don't know a soul, but it sure sounds like it will be fun..

Looks like you're just west of Big Horn Campground, same road, according to Streets & Trips. BUT...I just checked their website and their directions don't match. I've got friends staying there, will email and get the RIGHT location. LOL! If it's what the website shows, then I'll be further to the west, out of town a bit on Hwy16.

I'll PM you with my cell phone number...I drive a Class C so my hills are REALLY slow...if we have any between Buffalo & Gillette. I also go 60-65 max. Just a warning in case you do want to travel together.

This is my third Escapade and every one is different...but WONDERFUL!!
