We are thinking of working as volunteers at Point Lookout State Park in southern Maryland next summer (2009). Has anyone been there or worked there, and what did you think of it?
We volunteered for one fall at Greenwell SP in Hollywood, MD, not far from PL. We were asked to take the position at PL, but never got over there, even to check it out.
It is a lovely area...one we wish to go back to.

We volunteered twice at Point Lookout and once at Greenwell. Never in the summer, all times were after Labor Day. Point Lookout is 25 hours a week and Greenwell is 20 hours per couple. Both places are great. There are 10 camp host sites at Point Lookout and 1 and Greenwell. The Point Lookout positions go quick. Call the park and ask for Rob Jones he is the volunteer coordinator for both sites.
