Jim and I are currently volunteering at Unicoi State Park in Helen, Georgia. I talked to the resource manager today--she said she has the following openings for volunteers:

Open Space: 2/1/2008 - 6/30/2008
Open Space: 3/26/2008 - 5/31/2008
Open Space: 6/30/2008 - 8/31/2008
Open Space: 10/30/2008 - 2009
Open Space: 12/15/2008 - 2009
Open Space: 10/31/2008 - 2009

I edited this today to clarify that the 24 hours of volunteer time is 12 hours per person, not 24 hours each. We work a total of 24 hours per week .

The things we do and the benefits we get in return for volunteering are in the blog post. Jim and I are in our third volunteer season here. We usually come in the winter months. We have already signed up for next winter. The people here are very friendly and easy to work with and for.
