This truck was purchased from Larry Ziegler around Christmas of 2003. I have had zero problems with it. Family health issues are dictating that we come off the road. This truck is in Phoenix, Arizona

Hi just had some questions about your truck. How many miles did the truck have when you purchased it in 2003? What kind of milage did you get while towing? Also do you have any pictures of the interior other than the ones already posted?
Thanks Kevin |

Kevin,
I purchased this truck with 595K miles. Average mileage pulling my heavy 5er is 9 to 10 mpg depending on the severity of the mountains and direction of the wind. I have traveld exclusively in the Western states. It gets about 14.5 bobtail. I don't have any other photos at present. This truck is very clean inside. What is the Super 10 shift like? I have been researching the Ultrashift, Freedom Line, and the Auto Shift. Is it similar?
Is the truck berthed in Phoenix? Is there room to shove a HD behind the cab while towing? |

The truck is in Phoenix. Actually 60 miles West in Tonopah. I can have it in Phoenix for anyone needing to see it.
What is a HD? The photos should let you know what is behind the cab. The Super 10 is a standard tranny that uses a button to auto shift on every other gear. Manual shift into Odd Gears, Button shift into Even Gears. Actually, the better description would be, Button Aft, Manual shift to Odd Gear, Button Forward, Auto shift to Even Gears. They call this tranny a Top Two. I believe it is because the top 2 gears act just like an auto shift regardless of button position(When Cruise Control Switch is in the ON position). As you drive, the tranny shifts between 9th & 10th automatically according to speed. I too, was adamant about finding an autoshift transmission when I was searching for a truck. This made my search last quite a while. After having this transmission, I feel I wasted a great amount of time and energy looking for the autoshift. This is a breeze to drive. I have been told that there are actually less times to use the clutch pedal with the Super 10 than with the Auto's depending on whether or not you shift into Neutral when stopping. Don't ask me to explain that. It's just what I have been told. I have a pretty heavy trailer and usually start out in 3rd or 4th gear while loaded. Never a need to start any lower than 5th while Bobtail. To be perfectly honest, the only time I use the clutch pedal is starting off. I float the gears for all manual shifts. Floating is the way to go, IMHO, and according to any trucker I have talked to. So to all out there dead set on autoshift, my advice is don't rule out the Super 10 or any manual transmission for that matter. I will second that about the Super 10. I only use the clutch from a dead start.

HD means Harley Davidson.
The answer to the HD question is "it depends". My wheelbase is 182. With my body I designed in 42" of "toy" space with the hitch in the most rearward mounted position. You could get more by removing the fairings, or by pushing sideways up into the fairing area after loading. That would give you an easy additional 10". Since the truck does not have a body yet, I don't think there is any issue with accomodating a MC. IMO. On the trans: IF you are going to have a manual trans, the Top 2 is the very best there is. It acts like an autoshift in 9/10, once you get there and engage cruise. In the rest of the gears you do have to know how to float. This is not rocket science, but you do have to pay attention, and it is TOTALLY different than driving a car. Any buyer might consider the value of a Gearmaster to learn with, and then sell it later if you decide you don't need it later. IMO this is a good price on this truck if it is clean and in good shape.
