I'm noticing the same thing. More and more of my mail is coming in as Excapees, TX. Before the last mail it was just a couple of things....now it is increasing in number - NOT DECREASING. I've taken the attitude I live in Escapees or Livingston.....

Well, Jack, as long as you give them the option, I guess they'll take it. Your personal finances and lifestyle must not have been as impacted as others by this 'glitch'. I have made new mail forwarding arrangements. Dropping SKP altogether when my membership runs dry in Sept. Hate to see me go, I'm sure! |

I would bet my finances have been more affected by this than anyone else. If you read my previous posts then you will figure out how - if you care....
That is all fixed now. As long as there are no other "financial effects" then I could care less if the magazines and other minor stuff flip my city from time to time. As long as it works. My major concern is the Transunions, etc of the world. So far I have not had issues with them. If I do, then I will be moving to SD. As much as I would hate to go through that. I have read your posts. That's why I'm surprised you'd still be so tolerant. You've listed too many 'if' for me. But, to each his own. I hope all your important 'stuff' catches up to you. I'm not willing to take that chance any longer. |

That is in the past and fixed. No matter if I leave or not - it still happened. Retribution by leaving would accomplish little or nothing, IMO. AS LONG AS I incur no other major issues. I like the SKP mail service - at this time if I left I would only be punishing myself. Nancy and I are relatively new members of the SKP mail-service and therefore have not experienced any of these mailing snafus. In reading this thread, I fail to see where the SKP mail-service has failed to deliver anything but the highest quality of service: the problem appears to be all related to the service provided by the USPS. If you choose to change mail-forwarding services, what will prevent this from happening to you again with wherever you move to? Dealing with government services is frequently stressful. . . it seems to me that our friends in Livingston (or is that Escapees) TX have done everything possible. As always, oRV

You are correct oRV.... it's just that some folks will jump at any chance to have an excuse for either leaving an organization or lambasting it. It is the Post Office problem, not Escapees, although they are working with the P/O to get it corrected.
As I stated earlier, when viewing the Postal Website, they continue to show Escapees, TX as "acceptable". Until they correct this, I doubt the problem will be completely corrected. As far as I can tell, the possibility of mail not arriving at Escapees mail service has never been an issue. Whether your mail is addressed to Livingston, TX or Escapees, TX makes no difference in terms of mail being delivered to you. As long one or the other is on the envelope, and the zip code is 77399 the mail will arrive at Escapees mail center. The real issue is hassles from those vendors or providers who verify the address information on your application with information provided by the post office. When it differs, they run up red flags and potentially deny credit or refuse to ship something to you. The other potential impact has to do with credit reporting agencies as Jack mentioned, where your credit score could be adversely impacted by improper interpretation that you have moved. I don't know if that has happened to anyone or not. IMHO, this whole thing, while frustrating, is not that big a deal. I have twice lived in places where my address changed and I did not move. The first time was due to the city changing my street address. The second time was because the Post Office decided to service my location from a different city. In the second situation my street address did not change, but my city and zip code did. Both of those situations were much bigger deals since I owned property at both locations and many legal documents had to change. Truth to told, I wouldn't care now if they took the city and state off my address completely. All that really counts is the zip code, and that has not changed. Your opinion may differ. 2000 Volvo 770, 525HP/1650FP Cummins N14 and 10 Speed Autoshift 3.58 Rear 202" WB, 2002 Teton Aspen Royal 43 Foot, Burgman 400 Scooter |

It has been 6 days since the last post on this topic. What's going on out there?
Kellie, can you give us an update? We're ready to pull the trigger on a mail forwarding service and have been waiting to see what and how soon a solution is found. Well.........I was not going to post until I heard something from the political folks, which I was hoping for this week. One item I do know is that the USPS has been contacted by one of the political offices.
Larry, One item I want you to be aware of is that this can happen anytime-anywhere. It happened to me with my mail from Omaha, Nebraska, and to many others. Just review the past eleven pages to see....... Yet, let me reiterate that it is not our mail service or our zip code, it happens to be a glitch in the USPS software. Why???? Who knows but their IT people! As I have stated before, I wish my husband, a process control engineer (in other words, a fantastic problem solver) could go in their system for a few hours. The most important thing to know is that all of our mail service members are getting their mail. All of the Livingston, TX 77399 and Escapees, TX 77399 mail is being delivered, sorted and filed here. It is the companies that buy the CASS Software address updates from the USPS that are the ones having problems. In a nutshell, we have to fix the USPS. Larry, I am going to send you an email. Hugs, Kellie |

We recently signed up with Stamps.com to purchase our postage online and save us trips to the post office.
When we send an ordered item to anyone with a Livingston address, I type in Livingston, Texas but the post office software automatically switches it to Escapees, Texas on the printed label and will not accept Livingston. As long as the items get through to the customer, I don't care. FWIW...
I've been waiting for sometime to move my financial stuff to the Livingston address just because of this issue. Entering Escapees, TX in the USPS web site yields the following: ______________________________________________ Find a ZIP + 4® Code By City Results You Gave Us ESCAPEES, TX Lookup Another ZIP Code™entries 1-1 of 1 ZIP Code™ Matches in ESCAPEES, TX 77399 (ESCAPEES, TX IS NOT ACCEPTABLE - USE LIVINGSTON) (UNIQUE) _________________________________________ Mark & Diane Fulltimers class of 2008 2007 43' SpaceCraft - "Just Weight" 2002 Volvo 770 - "Optimus Prime" www.RVNomad.com SKP #91357 Lifetime |

That's interesting. The USPS CASS system knows that Escapees, TX is a mistake but it's not smart enough to fix itself. I guess the employees are not smart enough either. Hmmmmm our govt. agencies hard at work. Boogity -------------------------------------------- http://boogity-boogity-boogity.blogspot.com Cherish each hour of this day for it can never return. |
