Teresa and Alan, we are scheduled to work at KOA in Bemidji Mn from Memorial day to Labor day probably. Will then do some sightseeing and then head towards home to have xmas with kids and family. After that I believe we will be heading for "Q". We need to stay intouch to meetup.

We too are looking forward to fulltiming in 2005. We were on the road for 4 months in 2003 in a 21ft Class C Coachmen Catalina Sport. We are going up to a Class A 33ft Fleetwood Bounder. We are all excited about the prospect of being on the road again. It is interesting to read all the thought and ideas about fulltiming and related subjects. Thank you.

Hi Ginny and Lenny,
Our story is just the opposite of yours. Alan and I had a 31' Itasca and we traded for the the 21' BT Cruiser. We really like to be able to park in a regular parking spot. We love the easy in and out of the smaller RV.
When we were moving our things out of the big RV, we discovered things we had forgotten we even owned because we hadn't used them for such a long time.
Congrats on getting back to the road! Hope we see you out there.

To catch up with all of you....
Smokey and Pam....when are you leaving in 2005? Cool pictures at your link...thanks.

realladyat57...Congrats on the retirement. Maybe we'll see you in Alaska this summer.

Linda...I love the RV fairies, but they do make my head spin some days. LOL! Good luck with the bus.

Jim & Jan... Tell us more. What changed to make it possible for you to go fulltime 5 years earlier. Congrats on the new granddaughter. Our first grandchild was born 6 weeks ago. He is so precious.

Paul...Congrats on your retirment and good luck getting rid of the stuff. I always thought that would be tough to do....it wasn't!

Tom&Nina....Best of luck to you on the house. Maybe we'll see you in Alaska too. Have you lined up what kind of work you'll do on the road yet?

Richard388....Good luck on selling your house too. Denver is beautiful in the summer.

Knightab...Love your excitement...me too. I hereby nominate Knightab to help organize this group into something real....anyone second. LOL!

Anne G....We are all pulling for you to join the class of 05. Sorry 04 didn't work out for you. I have a feeling that you'll really like being a part of this class though.

AridzonaShooter....please give the wife our congrats on her last day of work. I like that you plan on never planning again. Big Grin Hey, if you're bored next January wherever you may be...just remember that some of us will be there waiting to taste your pot at the pot luck around the campfire.

Larry & Phyllis....Congrats on the retirement. I hope we see you out there some day.

To all of you...Welcome to the class of 2005! We Rock! It's so fun getting rid of the stuff. Heck, I can do the house cleaning so much faster now without all those little things to dust. Our house is looking pretty empty now, but that's okay because it just means we're getting closer now to fulltimin' - our dream.
Alan just had me put his last toy on ebay. It's a 1966 Chevy C-10. I need to go check the bids on the auction now. Wish us luck!
Take care,

Quite by accident we discovered that WHEELBASE is an important consideration for where you can park an RV. We took our 33' Bounder to San Diego for a weekend picnic at the oceanfront park that runs the entire length of Shelter Island. We boondocked for the weekend right there in the ritziest, most beautiful part of San Diego among the yacht clubs and hotels where rooms are hundreds of dollars a night. Harbor and city lights and check out the Humphreys-By-the-Bay Concert schedule - you can hear them for free cuz you're right there ; - )

Nice and legal, too - overnighters are allowed at the park but buddy, you are not allowed to park sideways - we saw a too-big RV try that and the cops came and chased them away. Even though the Bounder is a big RV, the WHEELBASE is short enough that the entire ass end was able to hang out over the grassy park behind us. We took up no more room in the parking space than a regular truck. We set up an ex-pen for the dogs, pulled up lawn chairs, grilled, played badminton, and had a fabulous weekend.

Alan & Teresa - Someone should get all the email addresses (does everyone have an Escapees email address, its free if you are a member of Escapees) and we could send everyone a note now and then and find out where everyone is. We would be willing to meet! That sounds like fun! We could have our own group! Who will volunteer to get all the emails and keep them? OR we could just hollar thru Escapees forum in about June 05 and see what everyone is doing and where they are...I think it is a great idea...what do the rest of you think?? Safe travels, Anne

Anne, I think Knightab is going to keep the email list of people that want to meet up at Quartzite Jan 06. I'll be there and he has my email. Did you want to volunteer for an occasional note to the group?

Knightab....am I right? Are you collecting the names and emails for this group.

Party at the Q! Jan 2006

I am in the process in getting a pin designed and made up for the 2005 graduates. Soon as they send me a sample of pin I will post a link to view it. Basically it will have a picture of an rv and say Fulltiming 2005. I have to order 100 pcs to keep the price reasonable. The price is gonna probably be in the $5-$6 range. Anyone interested in ordering one please post or send me email at quartzsite2006@rvhappenings.com I should have a sample of pin by tuesday 11/30/2004

We plan to leave as soon as we can get everything sold. Hopefully by some time in March. The sooner the better.

We wanna join! We’ve been planning for two years to go fulltime in 05. Sold the big house a month ago and moved into a townhouse in preparation of hitting the road. We felt like having an anchor for the first year or two. You know a place to come back to just in case. Our Son will graduate in 05 and once we get him settled we’re off to experience the fulltime RV life. One day at a time.
I have developed a software program for RVers that I hope will help provide us with an additional source of income while on the road.
Sign us up for the “Q” in 06. From what I’ve read and seen it’s something you have to experience at least once in your lifetime. Sounds like it would be a lot of fun meeting with other 05 graduates.
Knightab I want a pin.

Ok, final design is in on the pin. Much sooner than I thought! Go here http://www.rvhappenings.com/RVfulltime.jpg I am awaiting the final price and believe now I will probably have it tomorrow. I have to order 100 pcs to get a decent price because of the setup charge. 50 cost almost as much as 100. Check it out and let me know who wants how many. Hope you all like it. I think we will be the only graduating class to have their own pin! YOOOOWHHHOOOOOOO Smile

We want to join the Class of 2005 too! We plan to go full-time at the end of January and January 06 is perfect timing for us to be in Quartzite. We have not signed up for Escapees email as yet. Just tried and the office is closed for the holiday.

Knightab, I love the pin; the design is awesome! Put us in for one, please.
