Hello All
Well I started this post in "Beginning RVing" and after a few suggestions I moved it here. I wont repeat what I said in that post, if you haven't read it yet here is a link to it. Well I was informed in my other post that I am not starting too early with my plans for 2008. So I figure I will begin the "Class of 08" club being I am a website developer anyway and would love to manage the site. I am only looking for graduating class sites, not individual sites from other class. I thinking having links to other graduating classes would be good in case someone came to our site by mistake. It helps get them to the right place without having to go back to the search engine and keep digging. So if you are interested in joining the "08" crew feel free to post here or drop me an email and let me know. After I get a few signups I will put up a website for us. If you belong to another class drop me and email with your basic info and I will post links to your sites. Outside links coming into your site will help your search engine ranking so this is a good thing. Ok I guess that is all for know so come on people lets get the family of 2008 rolling. Come Jan 1, 2007 our countdown will begin. Lonnie (CyberSorcerer) Gardner This message has been edited. Last edited by: CyberSorcerer, |

We have been waiting a long time for the Class of 2008 to evolve. We joined the Escapees in 2000, when the thought of retiring was just a dream. We learned the Escapees Club was just not for retirees or full time RVers. We knew pretty much in 2000 that this was the lifestyle we would embrace after paying our dues in the working world. We joined the Escapees early in order to help us prepare for the wonderful year of 2008 when our turn to retire finally comes around. The knowledge we have picked up comes not only from the club staff itself but the thousands of members we have met at national, state level, and BOF rallies not to mention the ones met along our travels. These people have also become our new extended family.
Lonnie we want to thank you for volunteering to develop the Cass of 2008. Welcome to the Escapee forum and hope you become a SKP soon. 2008 will be a great year to graduate with the Escapade being held in Gillette, Wyoming. hartzlerr@cs.com Roger and Nora Hartzler 95 Volvo TTES N-14 460HP 13 Speed 2004 Teton 40' Reliance SKP # 67556 http://community.webshots.com/user/edkronholm |

Hello Roger and Nora
Well it is nice to see that the class of 08 is jumping into action. Yes attending the 2008 Escapade should be no problem for us seeing that Yellowstone is one of our top 5 stops when we get underway in 08. We will leave Las Vegas and visit my parents for a few weeks in Chino CA then head North up through CA into OR, WA then through Idaho and into Yellowstone and Wyoming. We plan to stay there for a bit then head down to Livingston TX "to you know were?" So welcome to Class of 08 and I am sure we will get to meetup soon. Like I said I will put together a website for our little family (only at the moment) to hangout and get to know each other at. Along with our newsletter, T-Shirts, Pins, etc. |

Hello Lonnie & Kathyrn, Roger & Nora.
We will also be retireing in April of "08". As of this AM, we have 507 days left, but whose counting. We are new SKP's this year, and have a new Teton 33' on order. Lonnie, your parents are our neighbors, as we live in Norco, Ca. It sure is great to get the "08" class off and running. I'll offer my help, but it has to be really basic, I'm a one finger typer, if that gives you an indication of my skills. Look forward to talking with the class of "08", and thanx Lonnie for starting us down the road. Hi Lonnie and others in the 08 group! We're retiring in '08...my projection is we'll actually start traveling in apr-may of '09, although we're preparing, mentally and otherwise as we go along. My wife, Kathy, is not as committed as I, but, I hope to get us to a LOW conference this next year and I think that will make a tremendous difference in her attitude. We used to do a bit of camping and I reminded her of the sense of peace and contentment we always felt and how nice it would be to live a life full of that...no deadlines, no time factors,no fixed destination or any sort of "haf ta'" stuff...and reading how some of you enjoy this in spite of health issues and money issues...I'm ready! We will not be affluent, but, reasonably comfortable. Able to go and do as we want, mostly, with BCBS health ins+medicare...should be a cake walk! In any case, please consider us part of the class of '08. If things go very well, I could retire as soon as Aug of '08...and if things went really bad, I could wait a little...nothing set in stone. See ya down the road! Larry and Kathy

Welcome hichhiker, Larry and Kathy
Larry and Kathy if you want to join the Class of 08, no worries it's a done deal. All you have to do to join is just post here and let us know, very simple. The Class of 08 will be a fun and exciting class just like I am sure ever graduating class is. I plan to have events scheduled of different sorts along with get-togethers and parties etc. It will be an exiting year to go FTing for sure. Welcome to the club and hope you all have a wonderful time in 08, I know we will... |

Hello Class of 08!! It is so good to see you guys forming your Graduating Class already! The time will pass so quickly...you will see!
If you should need any help at all, I would be glad to help you out. I ordered the badges and worked on the decals for the Class of 05 and would be happy to help in any other area that I can. I am also starting to get together information again for the Escapees BOF and hope to have something started on that after the first of the year. Due to a busy schedule the first few months, it will be March probably before I can do that though. All the Graduating class members and others "graduating" before the first class of 05 started are welcome to join. It will be free, unless we should need a few dollars for a website to be formed. I am not much on that subject though and hope that someone might agree to help me with that. Hint, hint CyberSorcerer! Well, again, welcome Class of 08....you are a third generation...BE PROUD!! Hello Full-Timin Cuz
Thanks for the welcome and the offer to help out with badges, decals and stuff. I will be designing T-Shirts, Mousepads, etc And yes if you have any questions about starting a website or need help in getting one going I would be more than happy to help. I will be starting a BOF for anyone interested in making money with your computer. I mentioned before I have about 20 websites most all earning money in some form (from ebay to internet marketing). My wife said in a 5 years I will be the Donald Trump of the Internet... LOL. But yes I am planning seminars, workshops and ebooks on this subject and personal help through a website and forum. Anyway if you have any questions about a website drop me an email and let me know what your thinking. I am always glad to help out. |

Hello Class of '08,
We are both retiring in April '07. We don't have an RV yet and are in no hurry. We have been going to RV shows for 2 years and attended the LOW Conference last August in Iowa. We will have lots of things to do as we start preparing after our retirements. We will probably do some rentals. We have lots of accumulated stuff that we need to go through. I would be very suprised that we could be ready to FT in '07, as it is not our habit to jump into anything fast. We have decided that a DP Class A will probably fit our needs the best. We will have to decide whether we want to buy new or used. If we buy used we will be able to get into a better brand. Please sign us up for the Class of '08. Wow...looks like the 08 group is off and running.
I will turn 65 in March of 2008 and my better half will do the same in August. We are planning to attend the LOW event in Moscow Idaho in July 2008 to kind'a kicks things off. We don't have our rig yet so much work to do in that regards. I know this will be most beneficial to us and hope we can contribute in kind. Put us on the list please. ps.....the koot in grampakoot is for Kootenay Country, British Columbia Canada. This message has been edited. Last edited by: grampakoot, Grampakoot |
