Howdy 2006ers!
Keith and I have been in Wyoming cowboy land since we left the last of ten national parks we visited this year. Yellowstone was amazing, but still snowy. We will be in a Forest Service campground near Ten Sleep WY until the Esacapade. Are any 06ers in the neighborhood. Anyone else on their way to Escapade?

Big GrinJeff and Sue...so glad to hear that you've found good digs...you guys are the best and we hope and pray that the best comes your way in your new S&B home....thanks so much for shareing all that you did while on the road...as you did, we all enjoyed the ride...

Mike and I are up at "Old Oak Ranch" (Conference Grounds...holds about 620 ppl when full capacity), volunteering for "who-knows-how-long"...I tend to think we will go down the mountain before the snow flies but who knows???
(December)

We're about 3 hours from 3 of our daughters and their families so we go visit when we can... Winkthey say they will visit this summer too...we'll see?!?!?!? Roll Eyes

All of us '06ers had a vision of what our "Fulltiming" years would look like...now after 2 years we are all coming to grips with how it's really gonna be...but the great thing was that we met each other and shared some really great times together...now...I say...what can be bad about that??? Big Grin Razz Cool

Thanks Charlie. . .it's a bit of a guilty feeling at how easily we have "let go" of our road life; but, Suzanne & I have always been able to roll with the punches. I already have an acting gig this Saturday with our long time acting company, Lagniappe Productions. I am playing a vile, corrupt railroad tycoon; riding a steam train loaded with audience members from Grapevine, TX to a restaurant in Ft. Worth's Historic Stockyards; where they will watch a murder mystery wherein I am the murder victim. I'll establish how hated I am on the train ride; then, go home after the guests enter the restaurant. Oh well, back to the same old boring life for twohamsinacan!!!! Big Grin

Hello everyone!

Just wanted to let everyone know that we arrived in Gillette, WY to the Escapade today. We've already run into Froggi Donna and exchanged hugs in the short time we've been here. If anyone else is here or coming, please look us up. We're on site C 102. We're free tomorrow (except for a planned trip to Walmart), then we'll be in Boot Camp Friday & Saturday. We know Melvis was planning on attending. Who else should we be on the lookout for? We're looking forward to seeing some of our classmates.

Bobby and Shelly,

It's good to see you on the way out and about after your stay in AZ. We have been keeping an eye on you through your blog and may cross paths with you sooner or later.

We are spending the summer in Alaska so will not make the gathering in Wyoming and will miss the '06 members who attend. We met up with a good number of class members in the Rio Grande Valley this past winter and always look forward to seeing old friends wherever they may be.

Have a great time at Escapade and safe travels...

Really long distance hugs from Alaska...

Still hanging around here near Dallas, TX. We will leave here the end of August for a new workcamp job in Thousand Plams, CA. Will be spending the winter there. Really enjoyed meeting with Jeff & Suzanne last week. We had a great meal and a lot of fun talking about our travels. I know we all wish them the very best in their new adventure.

Hey everyone, we're in Detroit this weekend meeting our future daughter-in-law's parents. Had a great day yesterday going to the largest used book store I've ever seen - 7 stories!! We also went to Greenfield Village which is fantastic. We have to come back 'cause we only saw about 25% of it and then there's the Henry Ford Museum which we didn't see at all. If you are ever in the Detroit area - these are terrific things to see.

Hams, when you go to the Henry Ford mueseum, keep an eye out for a travel trailer and a car that I believed the Fords and the Firestones went traveling with. I wish I could remember what vehicle they pulled with, but I believe it was at least 15 years ago we were there. The place has so much in it.

Hi Hams, you are right about a lot to see at "The Ford" as it's called now. I recommend at least a day to see each. Some displays in the museum are permanent and others are rotated, so you might not see the same thing each visit.
We will be heading back up into The Mitten again this week. Both of us need to see some Dr's for tune-ups,...nothing serious....just stuff that slows us down.(Or is that old age, we'll see.)
We might even go up across The Mighty Mac and see how the Yoopers are doing! Wink
Have fun this summer ya'll'

Hi Classmates!
Escapade was the Best! We watched the fireworks with Jack and Louise and visited with Froggi and with Melvis and with Robert and Shelly. It is good to have classmates!
We are "home" in Rapid City for a couple of days then we will proceed east to spend time in IL with my mother and work Air Photo for a stint to pay for replacing our old tires. They are having their 5th birthday soon.
Drive Safely!

Well folks, the Gillette Escapade is over but what a time we had. It was my third and best yet. Wyoming was fantastic, the weather was great (at least most of the time), and the folks were wonderful. It was great to see ol’ friends again and to make new ones. The 4th of Gillette ceremony was the bomb (pun intended) with one of the best fireworks displays I’ve ever seen and from the best seats in the house, our own backyard. Fellow classmates, Bobby and Shelly, Keith and Gail, Jack and Louise, honorary classmate Froggi Donna, and of course our class mascot Mia, were all there and accounted for. Unfortunately, due to our heavy social schedule we didn’t get to spend a lot of time together but it was sure great to see them all again and enjoy the little time we did have together. Can’t wait for the next time. Cheers y’all......................mike
