Thanks Cookie, Kellie and Ginsou for the encouragement. I'm a working gal and usually only get to my private email a couple times a week. So sorry for the late reply. I've finally moved into a campground on Thursday evening, which just opened for the season. Season here is short (May 15 to Oct. 1). I was here last year and when Oct 1 came around it was time to move back to the shopping center and boondock for the next 7-1/2 months, driving the coach everyday to work (2 miles) and returning at night.

My employer normally does not allow folks "living" on-site since it is after all not your everyday office building but rather a "secure facility." Did I mention that my occupation was just your everyday rocket scientist? Smile However the site VP did say I could to stay on-site whenever the weather was bad, and it was bad this year with it being the second snowiest winter in NH.

I will say the coach did fine though I did rack up some serious hours on my generator and Aqua-Hot system. Seemed like every month I was changing the oil and filter on the generator.

Cookie, will look you up when I get to Gillette.

I've been trying to figure out the "forum thing" as far as posting a personal picture.

MGQ: Way to go!!!! I am a FT solo rv'er, coming up on my 1 year anniverary. It is a great life. I had to wait for that magic #55, also. Funny, I was actually looking forward to getting older(at least until 55), now, the birthday clock could slow down. Too much to see and do. I'm disappointed that I can't make Gilette, going to Alaska this summer, so I guess that's a pretty good trade off. Get there safely, and enjoy, Kathy

Yeah Kath: i think Alaska is a very good trade off and hopefully I'll make it there one day. Say hi to the polar bear floating off a piece of broken glacier. Smile

Wow your friend should of stuck around because it is up and running for the past 18 years and I hear it is one of the best running facilities in the world. Worked there a little while many moons ago, but then again, I guess there's worse jobs than working at a nuclear power plant - like being a tax man. Big Grin MGQ

I'm still itching to join you girls out there on the road! I feel like I'm getting closer to having a real & workable portable income, so I can have the freedom to live and work on the road. And have a blast!

Once my portable income is dependable and up & running, I'll be thrilled to share my findings with the rest of the RV community.

My New Horizons 5er is still safely in storage in Yuma. It will be so exciting to finally be able to go truck shopping for real (again). Then it will be my turn to learn to back that rig up!

Good thing the poodle is my co-pilot. Xena rocks!

Hugs to all!
Lisa

Thanks karma1485 for the inspiration and hope will be seeing you on the road real soon, unless the fuel prices keep skyrocketing out of sight. Though paid up for the Escapade, I'm actually re-thinking going to Gillette. 2200 miles one-way from NH at 6.4 mpg on diesel it's a mighty budget crusher. Frown

MCQ: If your angel said to "go to Gillette", then what do you call the one telling you not to go?

Bill, you are absolutely right and good food for thought and ponder over the next two weeks. It's fear of having a rough latter of the year that is driving me to stay put.

Yes but you have a diesel rig! A few additions to your rig and you can run on VEGETABLE OIL! Perhaps it is something for you to ponder. I am planning on using VEG OIL in my diesel rig... wherever she is Smile

cost of diesel VEG OIL conversion ~ $3,000
cost of donated VEG OIL- $0.00
making it to GILLETTE- PRICELESS

That's a lot of salad dressing. I wonder how big of a tanker would you need to tow behind to refuel along the way as well as the distilling unit?
