Well we have officially lived in the fifth wheel for 1 full week, and so far everything has been great. Well except for 2 days I couldn't find where I had put the measuring cup.
The kids have taken what they want and Everything else is out of the house and in the garage almost ready for the moving sale. the house is 2/3 painted and most everything has been scrubbed down and spit shined, almost ready for the for sale sign to go up As of today everything we plan to take with us is in the fifth wheel and we still have some cabinets that are still empty. Which hopefully means that if we find we need something we will have room to add a couple of things. Luckily we live in an oil boom area and housing sales are still very stong, So we are hoping that it doesn't take very long to sell. The road is still a few month off but hopefully we will be on the road by the winter months and if not we do have a back up plan can't wait to hit the road Mitch & Dana 2006 dodge 3500 2006 crossroads zinger 27ft (currently our home) |

Looks like you won't make the target date of May 2008 but you are getting close! After eight years we remember well the time that we were where you are now. It has been eight of the best years of our lives! Come on out, the road is great.

Thanks Fast Eagle for the link, I need to update my sig as we have changed our minds on what we want. Right now we are living in our 27ft Zinger and plan to do that for a while more(its paid for).
Why the change in plans? Well we have researched trailers to death have. We have been all over the west going to shows, I even got the RV consumer disc and was shocked at what I found. The true deciding factor was we took a trip the first of June to Washington and found some incredible campgrounds that with a very large rig would of been impossible for us to get into. We do not want to limit ourselves on where we can go. Eventually we will replace the Zinger, but not going over 30ft to 32ft range. Kirk, We are behind schedule but not to stressed out about it.The selling of the buisness and getting the house ready to sell has been a very time consuming. We will be joining the class of 08. Right now the tentative date is Nov. At that time we will head south to warmer climates. Can't wait to join you all on the road Mitch & Dana 2006 dodge 3500 2006 crossroads zinger 27ft (currently our home) |

countryside2007 - we're pretty much in the same time-frame as you guys. I have been working on the house since April and, to tell you the truth, I'm flat out exhausted. We had expected to put out the sign sometime in May but as you can see we're not there yet. I have painted almost every room in the house, the entire outside where there is old alum. siding, and now I'm working on the basement.
I have aggravated my bursitis or tendinitis or whatever to the point that I can hardly pick up a screw driver anymore. But I cannot just sit down and expect the work to get done. My old employer and I have a consulting agreement and I worked 3 weeks in May and June and then I worked the past two weeks in Ogden, UT. When I got home last Friday night I could hardly walk. But I have made as much as I'm allowed for 2008 so the house is priority one again. We'll be heading to south Florida in late October even if the house is not sold by then. We have a 5 month obligation there that we will not miss. Hi Mitch and Dana!
We feel your "pain"....Moving out is exhausting work!! We actually started traveling in the Mh in December 07, but just sold the house and came back home to get moved out. Not much fun anytime, but the middle of July in Virgina is hot and humid.....we are worn right out!! We're almost done and boy are we thankful!! Hang in there, and we hope to see you on the road!!! Boogity,
I have decided I should of just left well enough alone and sold the house completely furnished including linens, cloths, ect and completely started over, shopping for new would of been so much more fun. ( my husband wasn't laughing) Its amazing how many little things I keep finding that need fixed( not sure how we lived with this mess lol). Were having the moving sale starting this Thursday (holiday here)After all of this I will need a few month of sitting in the sun and relaxing. I'm so happy for you guys to finally be seeing the end and hitting the road and Florida will be a wonderful place to recoupe. Bob & Molly Congratulations on the sale of the house, and for getting to be on the road up until now. I suppose we did things a little backwards what with moving out of the house and then putting it up for sale but we figure if it doesn't sell before we leave will just have to come back to take care of the paper work and we will be done, plus just couldn't wait any longer as the house was just way to big for the 2 of us. Hopefully we will all meet somwhere on the road then we can tell horror stories of getting rid of the house. Mitch & Dana 2006 dodge 3500 2006 crossroads zinger 27ft (currently our home) |

Good luck with your purging! It is amazing how much "stuff" we manage to accumulate isn't it?
I am so happy the housing market is still strong where you are. That is one bullet you have dodged!!! Maybe you will have a quick sell and be on the road very soon. Good luck and hang in there. |

Bob and Molly,
A huge CONGRATULATIONS!!! What a relief for you guys! We have been on the market so long I forgot what our house looked like without a sign in the yard, LOL. Hopefully we will get a contract soon and be on the road FINALLY!! |

While we want a quick sell, I am trying not to get my hopes up, as it just causes to much stress for me as I so want this part to be done so we are able to move on to the next phase. I will keep you guys in our thoughts and prayers that you may sell your house and finally be on the road. Great blog by the way. I have one also but I don't think it is quite as interesting. I do have some good news we had a preview sale to our moving sale and sold $874.00 dollars last night. Not to bad of a start to our gas fund! Mitch and Dana,
Thanks for the kind words! We understand about getting your hopes built up with the market such as it is. Each time we show the house I can't help but wonder "is this the one?" I just love the 1 hour notice to show the house right at dinner time. LOL. Oh well, this too shall pass. We should start a prayer chain for everyone in the "waiting to sell a house" category. LOL You should post your blog link so we can follow your journey to fulltiming. We would love to read along. Outbacker Tom, CONGRATULATIONS!! We are so happy for you! Have fun on the road and we'll see you soon. |

Mitch & Donna I know the feeling. We just put our house on the market and I am cleaning out all of the stuff. If I could I would leave behind everything but the family pictures. I want to get on the road but I know I have to get though this step. I will make leaving so much sweeter. Good Luck and God Bless

The Shoelaces,
When we finally do get to leave it will be a wonderful day. We just had our first moving sale this morning and sold almost everything the only furniture we have left is the kitchen tables and chairs, every other piece of furniture is gone, Our bedroom set and matteress were the thing that evey body wanted If I had had 12 bedroom sets I would be rich, lol We will keep you in our prayers that your house sells and that you will soon be on the road.
