Some of you folks might remember reading a previous post of mine that told of an elderly friend who loves his computer but does not understand all he knows about it..

I was, and still am, constantly having to go over and clean it out and set his system up again and again..

Well this time was an unbelievable gigantic invasion of not one malware/virus , but 21 different ones..

YEP... 21 different attacks from just one innocent click on what he thought was a good thing.

It took me almost three hours to get his computer back to normal.

When I asked what he had done, of course he had no idea ... until I mentioned that he had not been using the programs I had installed in his computer... like AVG, Spybot, Ad-Aware.

He then remembered that he had clicked on a link that said to "upgrade" his protection with "Ad Ware"

Well to him, the "Ad-Ware" looked like the "Ad-A-ware" that I installed.. so he clicked on it and "Thar she blows... BAM ! BAM ! BAM !.. here came the malware and dangerous viruses..

So to all my friends on the forum, please take this "Heads-UP" as a friendly reminder to always look and read very carefully before clicking on anything on the web..

Things are not always what they seem to be...

Remember .. if you are not sure... DON'T......

TWO CENTS WORTH
The story goes that a man died and was approached by the Devil who told him that he could buy his soul back for a dollar. The man searched his pockets and could only come up with 98 cent. While begging the Devil to forget the two cent he was short, an Angel happened by and hearing the Devil laughing, asked the man, "Would you mind if I put in my two cents ?" The Devil got so mad that he exploded in a puff of smoke and the man's soul was saved.
The moral: Sometimes putting in your two cents worth makes a difference.

I use Spybot-Search and Destroy freeware on a regular basis to keep my computer healthy. So far it is blocking over 84,000 spy and adware stuff.
