I won a Garmin NUVI 200W and it sure is nice. I do not see anything in the documentation or on their website about being able to use any software (MapShare, etc.) to create a route and upload it into the GPS.
I currently use DeLorme Street Atlas and my laptop in the motorhome. But this little NUVI is perfect for in the toad. With SA I create the route with stops and vias, save it, and then crank it up on the laptop when we hit the road. It would be nice to do this on the NUVI. I used to have a Magellan hand-held Meridian Gold GPS with MapShare software so I could make the route and then upload. It was very nice. I sold the Magellan a few years ago when I gave up hunting. -------------------------------------------- Boogity - Cherish each hour of this day for it can never return. |

OK, Boogity! I am really jealous.
My hubby and I have been researching those babies for approximately six months. Would you believe I have finally found the nerve to go buy one this weekend? BTW. everything that I have researched is fabulous, so enjoy it! Hugs, Kellie |

First, congrats on the win!!! I recently got the Nuvi 760 for the RV since the screen my older Quest was too small (now use it in the toad).
After doing a little google searching, I emailed Garmin, told them what I had bought and asked if there wasn't some type of software I could load on my computer to create routes. They sent me the software free of charge...no, haven't loaded it yet so can't say how good/bad it is. I assume it will be some version of MapSource since that is what came with my Quest but I could be wrong. Costs nothing to email them..... Kellie - I have been looking at them for 6 months! I really missed my old hand-held GPS.
Donna - the email will go out this afternoon - thanks. I feel kinda guilty having won this thing the way I did. I have gone back to work 2 days a week on a consulting contract. An old buddy of mine at work has been bugging me to go to a Wood Carver's Guild meeting with him. So I went Wed. night and won the raffle prize. I'm not a member and it was my first time there. I'm sure there were folks there who didn't like it. -------------------------------------------- Boogity - Cherish each hour of this day for it can never return. |

Hey Boogity, congrats on your win. By the way, are you a woodcarver? I just started the hobby myself so I am interested in talking to anybody that is interested in woodcarving. I'd sure like to talk more if you are.
