Thought I'd share something with the group...

I had a front tire blowout about a month ago while traveling on the interstate. I was bobtail and not going that fast so damage to the truck was minimal. But I didn't have a spare tire or a jack with me.

So, I made a call to Good Sam ERS. Relatively good experience. The guy who answered the call was a bit abrupt but not rude. The guy who came out to put on a new tire was friendly and did manage to do the job, although seemed kinda "new on the job".

A couple of hours later, I was back on the road with a new set of front tires. (I followed him back to his shop and had him put on the other front tire. I didn't like what I saw of the one that came apart.)

I got one of Good Sam's "How'd we do?" surveys in the mail and basically told them what I thought of the service I received and those providing it. Overall, pretty good.

BUT, I did include a message that said that I'm sick of the JUNK MAIL!! I also mentioned that if the junk mail continued, I would likely switch to another provider and not leave a forwarding address when I move.

It's just a guess, but I think they've spent close to 1/3 of what I've paid them in subscriptions (Good Sam Club and Good Sam ERS) on mailing me advertisements. I don't like that. I would rather they quit such a ridiculous mailing campaign and either lower their prices or increase their services or both.

It's just over the top in my opinion and I told them so. Now, whether anyone will actually read it, I have my doubts. But it felt good to say it, nonetheless.

Even worse, they have us listed with both a correct and an incorrect spelling our our name so we are getting ads for a service we already have.

When we stopped RVing, I emailed them and asked them to please take us off the mailing list for everything. They did (yes, it took two times but it worked).

Then I reactivated our lifetime membership when I started looking into RVing, for whatever reason they still kept me on the no mail list. I had to specifically ask for the magazine (yes, twice...LOL!).

Try emailing and asking to be taken off their marketing distribution list. I think they honor it more than they used to since it does cost them money to send it out.

Thanks, Donna,

They've now been e-mailed. We'll see if it does any good.

Smile
