First - - I'll never see 65 again. I am out for my morning half hour walk and this stupid song pops into my head:

Mares eats oats and does eat oats
And little kids eat ivy
A kid'l' eat ivy too wouldn't you

Can any one finish the lyrics?

'Cept, you have to run the words together.... my grandma, who was born in 1873, and was wise as God in my eyes, used to sing that to me from the time my memories begin.... it goes like this:

Mares eat oats,
And does eat oats,
And little lambs eat ivy
A kid'll eat ivy, too,
Wouldn't you?

Those lines are sung over and over, faster and faster, til the kid is giggling like a hyena! Oh, how I miss my wonderful Grandma!

More than a refraim, it was a real song, mostly spoken, that was recorded back in the 1920's or 1930's.

It's not in my collection, although I have heard it before, and can't remember exactly how it goes.

Someone, somewhere will have a copy.

Another interesting ditty was "Boom Boom Dittam Dattum Whattamachu"...you know, those three little fishies that swam and swam all over the dam!! Another actual recording.

if the words sound queer and funny to the ear,
a litle bit jumbled and jivy.
Sing, Mares eat Oat's and Does eat oats
and little lambs. eat Ivy

the it goes back the the same Mare Z doats and Dozzy doats you had already posted.

After you've digested Mare Z doata then try.
Hut sut ralson on a rillarah and a brawlla brawlla suit, Hut sut ralson on a rillarah and a brawlla suit. The hutsut is a Swedish town, The rillarah is a stream, The brawlla is a boy and girl, the suit is their dream.
Hutsut rawlson on a rillarah and a brawlla brawlla suit. Hutsut ralson on a rillarah and a brawla suit.
Spell it your own way cause I'm sure mine is wrong.

I like all those old songs. The one I really remember was, Praise the lord and pass the ammunition, played during WW2.
